Vasil STANILOV "La Legende de la Martenitsa" (Legende protobulgare) C’est pourquoi les Bulgares portent le premier jour du mois de mars qui annonce le printemps, des fils blancs et rouges entrelacés. Pour que les liens qui les unissent ne se rompent jamais! Pour être toujours en bonne santé, gais et heureux! Pour bien montrer qu’ils sont des Bulgares! D’où vient cette coutume étrange? Pourquoi aucun autre peuple ne l’a-t-il pas? Différentes hypothèses sont avancées à ce sujet. De l’avis de certains cette tradition nous vient depuis l’époque du khan Asparoukh.
